HCR Providers

Being part of the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee provider network, we understand that the complexities of the health care reform law could affect you and your practice in numerous ways.  With the law changing the health care delivery system and associated costs with individual, group and Medicare health plans, providers have the potential of feeling both the direct and indirect affects of the law and its multiple provisions.

Many provisions will go into effect on Sept. 23, 2010, including the extension of the dependent age limit to 26 and the elimination of pre-existing condition exclusions for dependents under the age of 19.  These changes, and more, are carefully being implemented by BlueCross to ensure that we are meeting the requirements of the law, while communicating to our all of our customers – members, employer groups, providers and brokers – on how these changes apply to them.

This FAQ will provide answers to many of the questions we have received.  Additionally, specific information for providers in the form of FAQs and fact sheets will be made available in the near future through the secure site of bcbst.com, BlueAccess. If you don’t have a BlueAccess account, you can register by going to the BlueAccess registration page of bcbst.com.
