CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Robert L. Kennedy Jr., coordinator for the special investigations unit of BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, has earned the professional credential of accredited health care fraud investigator (AHFI).

Kennedy, who has worked as a fraud investigator for 16 years with BlueCross, is among the first 177 professionals in the United States to receive this new designation.

The credential was awarded by the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association, a national private-public organization dedicated to fighting health care fraud.

Individuals with an AHFI credential must meet specific educational and training criteria as well as demonstrate advanced knowledge in insurance fraud detection and investigation.
