CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has signed a contract with NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tenn., returning that hospital to BlueCross’ network of preferred providers.

The one-year contract was signed Friday, May 30, and is effective June 1. BlueCross BlueShield cardholders can use the services provided by NorthCrest and be covered under the in-network provisions of their policy. NorthCrest Medical Center had been an out-of-network facility since Jan. 1, 2003, when an earlier contract expired.

"We are delighted to once again have NorthCrest Medical Center in our network of providers," said Bob Fox, vice president of provider networks for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. "This hospital has provided outstanding service to our members in Robertson County and we are pleased that the new contract will allow that service to continue."
