CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee will honor area veterans at its 2007 Veterans Recognition Event in downtown Chattanooga on Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. More than 200 veterans employed at BlueCross and 10 serving in active duty are expected to attend.

This year’s event will feature special guest, Sgt. Shane Land, who will share the perspective of an American solider. Sgt. Land is a decorated Iraq war veteran that has completed more than 500 missions and treated nearly 200 casualties as a medic with the 4th Infantry Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is a resident of Ringgold, Ga.
