CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — For the second year in a row, the Web Marketing Association has awarded BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee with its Outstanding Web Site honor.

More than 2,400 sites from 45 countries competed in the 12th annual WebAward competition, which judges sites based on innovation, interactivity, navigation, copywriting and use of technology. Only three insurance Web sites were awarded the honor of Outstanding Web Site.

“Winning this award for the second year in a row is an honor and confirms our commitment to providing our members with the best possible Web experience,” said Trevin Bernarding, director of e-business development for BlueCross. “Providing information in a clear, simple and constructive way without sacrificing visual appeal is essential to our design process.”

The Web Marketing Association strives to improve the quality of Internet marketing and Web site promotion by setting a high standard for online development. The WebAward honors the best Web Sites in 96 industries.
