CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. ó BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee recently announced the promotion of Danny Timblin to vice president and treasurer.

As treasurer, heíll oversee investment management; operating and capital budgeting; corporate strategy and development, and corporate planning and forecasting.

Timblin joined BlueCross in 2006 as manager of corporate development and in 2007 was promoted to director of strategic services. He will report directly to John Giblin, executive vice president and chief financial officer for BlueCross.

Before joining BlueCross, Timblin took an active role in the corporate development of several multi-national corporations, including Lucent Technologies, where he was one of seven high performing employees to participate in the top-tier leadership development program. He was also employed at the Alex Brown division of Deutsche Bank Securities, as well as OFS Fitel, where he helped to engineer the successful spin-off of a 7,000 employee division. He began his career with the Federal Reserveís Tenth District lead bank in Kansas City.

Timblin holds a bachelorís degree in accounting and business administration from the University of Kansas and studied at the London School of Economics. He holds a masterís of business administration from Georgia State University, where he earned the Beta Gamma Sigma honors.
