CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has selected Michelle Link to serve as its vice president of human resources.

Link will oversee talent acquisition, training, organizational development, compensation, and benefits for more than 5,200 employees across all company lines of business. Additionally, she will serve as a liaison between BlueCross and its providers, business partners and internal departments to facilitate better relations. She will also provide support and resources to help the organization achieve strategic business objectives.

Prior to joining BlueCross, Link worked for an Ohio based Management consulting firm on a number of HR projects. Among her clients were the Pittsburgh Public School System, Kal Kan Dog Foods, and Corning Inc. She then transitioned to work full time for Corning Cable Systems where she worked on several mergers and acquisitions and served as the HR lead for both international staff groups and joint ventures.

In 2002, she was employed as the human resources director by CIGNA Dental and Vision in Florida, where she was responsible for five call/claim centers across the U.S., including the CIGNA facility in Chattanooga.

Link left CIGNA in 2004 to become the vice president of human resources for Amerigroup in Virginia Beach, Va.

She attended Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and finance. While there, Link was selected to work for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Embassy to spend a year overseas working for former Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown. Additionally, Link worked under the Clinton administration to help plan for the G7 Ministerial Summit. She also has master’s degrees in human resources management and communications from Ohio University, where she graduated magna cum laude.

Link is a member of the national chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management as well as World @ Work and the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals. She has also been designated as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
