The Color of Blood is the story of African-American soldiers and their contributions and hardships to the United States military. The 26-minute documentary features historians, professors and veterans who experienced this controversial time firsthand.

The African-American Contributions Series highlights the achievements of African-Americans throughout history in fields such as health care, education and the military. The DVDs are used in Tennessee-area schools and museums as an educational tool for students. This year, an online teaching guide is also available as an additional resource. It is online at
