NASHVILLE, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has named David Ellis as the new Nashville regional director for the small group account management team.

Ellis will be responsible for the improvement of account management processes and achieving the customer service and profitability objectives of BlueCross’ commercial division in Middle Tennessee.

“David has maintained higher than average customer retention rates for the small market segment. The levels of service he and his employees provide to their group accounts have received statewide recognition,” said Tom Uustal, vice president of client management for BlueCross.

Ellis began his 17-year career at BlueCross in the claims processing unit. He later joined the account management team as an account service associate where he was selected as Nashville’s small group account supervisor and later named manager in April 2006.

Ellis is a Chattanooga native and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He and his wife reside with their two daughters in Clarksville.
