BlueCross Taps Pettway as Director of Brand Strategy and New Media
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has promoted Ginger Pettway to serve as director of brand strategy and new media.
In this new role, Pettway will oversee the development and implementation of the company’s associated advertising and brand strategy. Pettway will also be responsible for the creative execution of BlueCross’ marketing efforts. Her responsibilities include the creation and delivery of marketing tactics in all forms of advertising, social media and corporate sponsorships. In addition, she will oversee the company’s graphic design department.
“Ginger has become an essential part of building the types of new strategies that keep our business viable and innovative,” said Henry Smith, senior vice president of operations at BlueCross. “I look forward to seeing this department grow under her leadership.”
Prior to her current position, Pettway served BlueCross as its advertising manager. In this role, she led the company’s advertising efforts across the state where she focused on the company’s core messaging and developed new and innovative campaigns.
Before joining BlueCross in 2001, Pettway served as the marketing director at Stones River Mall under General Growth Management Inc. There she was responsible for developing and managing marketing plans and special events for the mall and store grand openings.
Pettway also previously worked for several advertising agencies in North and South Carolina providing services to clients in the health care, home furnishings, carpet and tourism industries. Her duties included account service, media planning and buying, overseeing print production, trafficking, copywriting and broadcast production.
Pettway holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and advertising from the University of North Carolina.
