BlueCross Names Maki Vice President of Regional Sales
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has named John Maki vice president of regional sales and account management. |
In his new position, Maki is responsible for new account sales and existing account retention for all regional accounts. His primary responsibilities include the implementation, growth and retention of small, intermediate and large regional accounts as well as the broker and consultant relationships within these accounts.
“Since joining BlueCross in 2005 John has demonstrated leadership and excellence at every opportunity,” said Henry Smith, senior vice president of operations for BlueCross. “His experience and knowledge of our customers and the Tennessee marketplace will be a great asset for both our sales team and the clients we serve.”
During his time at BlueCross, Maki has held various roles including regional and major account sales for the west region of Tennessee. In October 2009 Maki was named the west region sales director. In addition to those duties he also continued to work with major account prospects located in Memphis.
Before he joined BlueCross, Maki was the marketing executive for Humana with responsibilities for developing the intermediate, large and major markets in Tennessee and Mississippi. Prior to Humana, he was the director of key accounts for United HealthCare with responsibilities for sales and account management for Tennessee and Arkansas.
Maki holds a Bachelor of Science in business management.
He is a volunteer with MDA, the Leukemia Society and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He is also on the Junior League Memphis President’s Society, a Leadership Memphis nominee, a Leadership Academy nominee, a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and is on the Greater Memphis Chamber Advisory Board.
