CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Caleb Merriman has been named the chief information security officer for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. In this position, Merriman will lead information security governance efforts for the state’s leading insurer.

Merriman will oversee security programs including business continuity, systems disaster recovery, information risk management, security architecture, and identity and access management. He brings more than 20 years experience leading high-performing teams across a broad range of information technology disciplines.

Merriman previously served as chief information security officer for BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota and Guidant Corporation, and as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force. He earned a BS in engineering from the University of Florida and an MS in information systems from the University of Phoenix.
