CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has promoted Lisa Szyjkowski to the position of director of provider and interplan operations.

In this role, Lisa will be responsible for the BlueCard Home, BlueCard Host, business solutions, interplan ops support, provider operations support, provider service, ebusiness and provider information analysis departments.

She will also direct the day-to-day operations for the customer-oriented operations departments responsible for claims adjudication, customer service, research, appeals and ebusiness.

“Lisa has been with BlueCross for 25 years,” said Maria Darras, vice president of operations for BlueCross. “Her extensive operational experience will greatly aid her in making sure we effectively and efficiently serve our members and the providers they rely on for health care.”

Szyjkowski mostly recently worked as manager of BlueCard Home claims and research, where she was responsible for daily operations, including ensuring claims and adjustments were handled timely and accurately.

Lisa received her degree in business education from Middle Tennessee State University and holds a masters degree in business education from Jacksonville State University. She is currently pursuing a masters degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
