BlueCross Names Couch Director of Provider Networks in Memphis, Jackson
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has promoted Alan C. Couch to regional director of provider networks and contracting for West Tennessee.
In this role Couch assumes responsibilities for provider relations and provider networks and contracting for the company’s Region 5 and Region 6 operations, which include the Jackson and Memphis markets.
“Alan is an experienced, effective and well-respected manager who has served the Jackson area for more than a decade,” said Robert Fox, vice president of provider networks for BlueCross. “His familiarity with West Tennessee will help him now as he expands his efforts to serve providers in Memphis.”
In 1991, Couch began his career with BlueCross as a marketing account manager. In 1997, he was promoted to regional manager for provider relations and assumed responsibility for all BlueCross networks within the Jackson region. Most recently Couch served as senior manager of provider relations.
Couch holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lambuth University, where he graduated with honors in 1985.
Couch and his wife, Carolyn, have two children.
