BlueCross Introduces Marketing Assistance Program for Brokers
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has launched an online Marketing Assistance Program for brokers. Called MAP, the service enables brokers to purchase pre-approved BlueCross-branded advertising and marketing materials directly from the Web.
More than 4,000 BlueCross authorized brokers and agents are able to take advantage of the service, which can be customized for each specific agency and/or broker.
“Insurance is a competitive business and brokers are always looking for ways to increase their sales. We’ve received numerous requests from our brokers for more advertising materials and direct mail programs,” said Ginger Pettway, advertising and marketing communications project manager for BlueCross. “We are excited to be able to answer these requests with MAP and give brokers the business advantage they’re seeking.”
Using MAP, brokers can purchase a variety of advertising and marketing materials, including newspaper and yellow-page ads, direct mail pieces and shared mail/newspaper inserts.
MAP also offers brokers a turnkey direct mail feature, which includes customized postcards or brochures, list procurement (business-to-business or consumer), and optional mailing services and postage for an all-inclusive price.
Separate materials for group, individual and Medicare supplement lines of business are available.
According to Pettway, the use of the MAP program and the ordering process are very user friendly. Brokers can order materials through a link to the MAP Web site from the BlueAccess broker area of bcbst.com. Brokers are required to be registered for BlueAccess in order to have access to the program.
Once logged in, brokers will choose the item they wish to order and follow the online instructions. Approvals take less than five business days. Once approved, electronic orders are e-mailed in one business day and printed orders shipped in seven to 10 days.
“We want to make sure that brokers have time to focus their efforts on growing their business and serving their customers,” Pettway said. “The MAP program enables BlueCross to quickly and conveniently give brokers professional marketing pieces at an affordable price. It’s a great benefit to them and to BlueCross.”
