Major Improvements to BCBST.com & ChannelBlue Coming Sept. 15

The use of the Internet as a source of health information continues to rise among consumers and presents BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee opportunities to provide easier access to information and decision-making tools that empower our members to become more informed and engaged health care consumers.

To better meet the expectations of our members, a redesigned bcbst.com Web site will go live on Monday, Sept. 15. Independent reviews of the site, along with our own Web analytics and research feedback helped shape the direction of the redesign.

Enhancements to bcbst.com include:

  • Key content has been better prioritized to allow members a more intuitive experience
  • The pathfinder has been improved by repositioning and enlarging the “I’m a Member, I’m a Provider,” etc.
  • Interactive elements, such as BlueAccess and Find-a-Doc, are enlarged, easily recognizable and better placed on the page
  • The flash billboard has been collapsed into a dissolving carousel to hold important messages, promotions,news items, etc.


Additionally, ChannelBlue, our video-based education and purchasing support portal, has been redesigned to better present information to consumers in a video format within bcbst.com.

Key highlights of the new ChannelBlue include:

  • Redesigned look and feel to improve interactivity and access to content
  • Utilization of progressive download technology to allow immediate viewing of videos
  • Greatly increased size of the video screen for viewing

Plus, several new videos are currently in production, including an Insurance 101 series, guidelines for using HSAs and HRAs, and numerous consumer engagement topics.
