AccessTN
AccessTN provides health insurance options for adults who can afford health coverage, but have previously been turned down by insurance companies as uninsurable.
To be eligible, all new participants in AccessTN must meet each of the following criteria:
- U.S. Citizen or qualified legal alien
- Tennessee resident for 6 months
- Age 19 and over
- Uninsurable by medical or insurance determination as demonstrated by one of the following:
- A doctor’s statement that the applicant has one of the 55 medical conditions
approved for instant eligibility. - Denial by two unaffiliated insurance carriers for individual coverage due to a health-related condition.
- Qualification through an AccessTN contracted underwriting process ($75.00 fee required).
- A doctor’s statement that the applicant has one of the 55 medical conditions
- No health insurance for previous three months (special rules apply to those finishing COBRA, TennCare or CoverKids policies)
- No access to employer insurance except CoverTN
- No continuation coverage available (like COBRA)
No income limits, no asset test.
No one will be turned away due to an existing medical condition
AccessTN participants will be offered a choice of three PPO benefit plan options. You will be able to select the plan that is best for your situation.
