Q1: Who is my PCP (Primary Care Practitioner)?
A1: Your PCP's name can be found by looking at the front of your BlueCare ID card. If you do not have your BlueCare ID card, you can call Customer Service for help. You can use the map to find the correct number for your county.
Q2: How often can I change my PCP?
A2: There is no limit to the number of times you can change your PCP. All PCP changes are effective at once.
Q3: When will I get my BlueCare ID card?
A3: Normally it takes two to three weeks to get your new BlueCare ID card. If you have not received your ID card, please call Customer Service at 1-800-468-9698. Your doctor can call BlueCare to verify your coverage while you wait on your new ID card.
Q4: Are vision and dental services covered?
A4: Routine vision and dental services are covered for members under the age of 21. Vision services are covered for members over 21 if they are due to some illnesses or accidental injuries. BlueCare will not pay for eyeglasses, contact lenses or examinations for prescribing or fitting them for members over the age of 21 except for the first pair of cataract glasses or contact lens/lenses following cataract surgery.
Adult BlueCare members age 21 years and older need to go to their PCP first to okay getting eye care, or BlueCare will not pay the cost of the care.
Dental services are covered for members under the age of 21. Dental services for members over the age of 21 are not covered.
Q5: Why was I assigned to this PCP?
A5: When the Bureau of TennCare tells us that you have chosen BlueCare, you are assigned to a doctor who is close to you. If you would like to change to another doctor, please call Customer Service for help
