Understanding CoverTN’s Benefit Limits
It's important that your enrolled employees remember the rules and limits of their CoverTN health plan. The chart below highlights some of them. Does Your Enrolled Employee Need Maternity Coverage?
Maternity benefits are not included as a benefit under CoverTN. So, members who become pregnant should take the following steps:
- Contact CoverKids as soon as they know you are pregnant. CoverKids will determine if they are eligible for TennCare OR HealthyTNBabies during their pregnancy. The CoverKids Customer Service toll-free number is 1-866-620-8864.
- Members eligible for HealthyTNBabies must keep their CoverTN coverage throughout the pregnancy. In this case, CoverTN would continue to cover services not related to the pregnancy. Members who drop their CoverTN coverage may no longer be eligible for HealthyTNBabies.
- Members eligible for TennCare do not have to remain enrolled in CoverTN, since TennCare covers all services during the pregnancy. However, they may choose to remain enrolled in CoverTN to avoid any future break in coverage.

Other Insurance Coverage
Please note that members may still be able to keep CoverTN if they pick up certain other kinds of health insurance after becoming effective for CoverTN. However, they must let us know about any other coverage they may have. When members do this, they help us keep accurate records on them and pay their claims correctly and quickly. Delayed or missing information may affect the payment of their claims.

Save Money by Using Network Providers
CoverTN uses providers in Network V. If members go to a provider outside their network, no benefits will be paid unless it's an emergency. To find a network provider, remind your enrolled employees to use the "Find a Doctor" tool at bcbst.com. They may also call Member Services toll-free at 1-888-877-3224 (TDD/TTY 1-866-591-2908) or check their printed Provider Directory if they do not have Internet access. In addition, members can call Member Services if they're having trouble finding a provider and/or scheduling an appointment with one.
