Open Enrollment Period
Time to make updates!
CoverTN encourages you to enroll any non-participating employees during our annual open enrollment period for 2012 benefits. Open enrollment begins October 1 and ends October 31. We also suggest you remind your employees that they can enroll a spouse during this period of time, too.
Open enrollment is also the perfect time for members to switch health plans and/or report changes in their health information, such as weight and/or use of tobacco products. Changes in their health information may change the premium they pay.
If a member decides not to make any changes to their benefit plan and/or health information, they do not need to do anything. Their benefits will automatically renew on Jan. 1, 2012.
Good news for 2012!
There are no benefit or premium changes for Plan A or Plan B for the upcoming year. Information about each plan and how your enrolled employees can make changes will be available in CoverTN’s 2012 open enrollment packet from BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST). BCBST will mail a packet to all participating employers and members in September. The packet will come with copies of the enrollment and change forms. All forms are due to BCBST by October 31.
