Open Enrollment Period Time to make updates!
The open enrollment for your CoverTN health plan is October 1 through October 31, 2012. During this time, and only during this time, your employees who have not enrolled in CoverTN may choose to do so.
During this same period, your enrolled employees have the opportunity to:
- Change health plans
- Add a spouse
- Report any changes in health information for themselves or their spouse regarding weight or tobacco use in order to change their premium rates
All changes and coverage will become effective Jan. 1, 2013, when the new benefit year for CoverTN begins.
Premium Rates Will Not Be Changing for 2013
The biggest news for 2013 is that for the fifth consecutive year, CoverTN premiums will not increase.
Enrolled Employees Will Receive Change Forms
To add a spouse, report changes in weight and/or use of tobacco products, or switch plans, subscribers must complete a change form. A copy of this form will be sent to their home address in the open enrollment mailing. We have also included a few change forms in your packet.
All enrollment forms and change forms must be received by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee no later than October 31, 2012. Please make sure that all forms are complete and signed. Incomplete forms may cause a delay in coverage. To request additional forms, call 1-888-887-3224.
Employees who want to keep their plan as is do not need to do anything during open enrollment. Their benefits will automatically renew on Jan. 1, 2013.
