Open Enrollment Period Time to make updates!
The open enrollment for your CoverTN health plan is October 1 through October 31, 2012. During this time, and only during this time, your employees who have not enrolled in CoverTN may choose to do so.
During this same period, your enrolled employees have the opportunity to:
- Change health plans
- Add a spouse
- Report any changes in health information for themselves or their spouse regarding weight or tobacco use in order to change their premium rates
All changes and coverage will become effective Jan. 1, 2013, when the new benefit year for CoverTN begins.

Does Your Enrolled Employee Need Maternity Coverage?
Maternity benefits are not included as a benefit under CoverTN. So, members who become pregnant should take the following steps:
- Contact CoverKids as soon as she knows she is pregnant. CoverKids will determine if she is eligible for TennCare OR HealthyTNBabies during the pregnancy. The CoverKids Customer Service toll-free number is 1-866-620-8864.

Reminder: Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) Notices
As a participating CoverTN employer, you are required to fund both your third and your employee's third of the required premium through the bank draft process. The State pays the final third. You must withhold your employee's third through payroll deduction.
