CoverTN rights and responsibilities: What your employee should know

CoverTN knows it is important for your employees to understand how their health plan works. As plan members, they have the right to:

  • Be treated with respect
  • Choose their doctor
  • Contact CoverTN with any questions about their care
  • Talk with their doctor about their treatment
  • Voice a complaint about their care

CoverTN and your employees’ doctors will work together to provide treatment. In order to provide the best treatment, CoverTN needs your employees to do the following:

  • Be honest about their health condition
  • Follow plans for care from their doctor
  • Take their medicine as it is prescribed
  • Use the hospital emergency rooms only for emergencies
  • Read the booklets and papers from their doctor

If your employee wants to read more about their rights and responsibilities as a CoverTN member, you can direct them to their member handbook. Handbooks are available online at bcbst.com
