African-American Contributions

This Learning Resource Guide is a tool to be used in conjunction with the African-American Contributions Series. Its purpose is to enrich the classroom experience by offering additional resources to educators on the significant role African-Americans have played throughout our nation’s history.

A link to each documentary in the series directs you to a page with discussion questions related to each video.

Whether it’s through education, health care or the military, the lessons to be learned through the triumphs and struggles of African-Americans impact us all.

Using the Series

The African-American Contributions Series is an incredibly popular tool with many Tennessee-area educators. All activities were created for use in secondary school classroom settings; though each lesson can also be modified and conducted at home.

For your convenience, all three of the African-American Contributions Series videos are available for online viewing on ChannelBlue. DVD versions of all three videos are also available by emailing  BlackHistory@bcbst.com
