BlueCross Community Trust

Supporting local charities and civic groups

The BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Community Trust provides support to non-profit partners throughout Tennessee. We focus our trust funding into four primary areas:

  • Charitable clinics
  • Groups that provide disease prevention, early detection and treatment services
  • Youth health and development programs
  • Organizations promoting diversity and inclusion

Eligibility

If your Section 501(c)(3) or Section 511(a)(2)(B) organization offers health care services to those in need and you meet our eligibility requirements, we’d like to work with you. We review partnership requests in two annual cycles. Each submission will be reviewed for eligibility, funding priority and budget consideration. A committee will review each submission.

The Community Trust accepts applications on a semi-annual schedule:

  • May 1 application deadline for support in July through December
  • November 1 application deadline for support in January through June

We will not consider applications received outside of these deadlines, but we encourage community partners to apply again during the next funding cycle.

BLUECROSS FOUNDATION

Creating spaces that bring communities together

Since 2005, the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation has supported schools, arts and cultural groups, museums, and other organizations that make life better here in Tennessee.

In 2018, we announced a new signature cause that would help us make an even bigger impact on the communities we serve – the BlueCross Healthy Place Program. Our foundation is creating BlueCross Healthy Places, including parks with fitness equipment and playgrounds, across the state so our neighbors have places to come together, get to know one another and enjoy healthy activity.

Each BlueCross Healthy Place is uniquely designed to meet the needs of the area and people it serves, and each space is inclusive with features for visitors of all ages and abilities.

The BlueCross Foundation accepts proposals for BlueCross Healthy Place grants Aug. 1-31 each year.
