MAKING AN IMPACT

Giving back to the state that built us

We have a special responsibility to all Tennesseans – whether or not they have a plan with us. That’s why we’re proud to give grants and time to civic and charitable organizations that provide much-needed support – and hope – to our neighbors statewide.

Community Trust

Supporting local charities and civic groups

Our mission is better health through peace of mind. To help make that possible, we’ve partnered with numerous organizations including:

  • Charitable clinics
  • Groups that provide prevention, early detection and treatment services
  • Youth health and development programs

Eligibility

If your Section 501(c)(3) or Section 511(a)(2)(B) organization offers health care services to those in need and you meet our eligibility requirements, we’d like to work with you. We review partnership requests in two annual cycles. You can request funding online through Nov. 1. Each submission will be reviewed for eligibility, funding priority and budget consideration. A committee will review each submission.

The Community Trust accepts applications on a semi-annual schedule:

  • May 1 application deadline for support in July through December
  • November 1 application deadline for support in January through June

We will not consider applications received outside of these deadlines, but we encourage community partners to apply again during the next funding cycle.

HEALTH FOUNDATION

Creating spaces that bring communities together

Since 2005, the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Health Foundation has supported schools, arts and cultural groups, museums and other organizations that make life better here in Tennessee. And we're going to make an even bigger impact thanks to a new signature cause.

Our foundation has started creating BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Healthy Places – active outdoor spaces for communities to share and play together. We work with local communities to learn which types of facilities they need most, then help them build the spaces that will best serve them and foster stronger bonds between neighbors.
