CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Brian Stana, a veteran accountant specializing in the insurance industry, has been named vice president and treasurer of BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.

As treasurer, Stana is responsible for investment management; operating and capital budgeting; corporate strategy and development; and corporate planning and forecasting.

“Brian brings both an impressive record of accomplishment, as well as a thorough knowledge of the health care industry to this important role,” said John Giblin, chief financial officer for BlueCross. “He will be a great addition to our leadership team as we continue to prepare for success in the post-reform marketplace.”

Stana comes to BlueCross with more than a decade of experience in leadership roles with major accounting firms in Birmingham, Ala. He last served as a partner at Dixon, Hughes, Goodman, LLP.

Stana earned bachelor’s degrees in finance from Florida State University and in accounting from the University of West Florida.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
