BlueCross Names Dockery Exchange Outreach Manager
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Emily Dockery has been named exchange outreach manager for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.|
In her new role, Dockery is responsible for the day-to-day planning, development and implementation of communications and outreach efforts to key stakeholders for BlueCross about the health insurance Exchange for Tennessee. Beginning in 2014, the Exchange will allow individuals to compare health insurance options and purchase coverage online.
Dockery began her career at BlueCross in 2005 as the senior writer for BlueCross’ corporate communications department.
“Emily brings years of diverse experience in communications and health care to this position. She is an accomplished professional with great insights and ideas on how to effectively communicate in this new marketplace,” said Roy Vaughn, vice president, corporate communications. “BlueCross will benefit from her expertise and leadership as we prepare to compete in the Exchange.”
Before joining BlueCross, she was the marketing manager at Hutcheson Medical Center; a senior account executive at Katcher, Vaughn and Bailey Public Relations; the special events coordinator at Easter Seals Tennessee and an information services writer and editor at Home & Garden Television.
Dockery earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and public relations from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America.
Dockery has been involved in several civic organizations, most recently as a Children’s Advocacy Center Fish & Chips Committee Member.
She has also won numerous awards, including the PRSA Incline and Parthenon Awards and the Governor’s Council Shining Star Award.
