I Want to See

What If I Want to Keep My Current Plan?

Under the health care law, health plans are required to offer standard benefits and coverage – more benefits and coverage than your current plan offers. You may have heard you were going to have to switch to a new health plan that provides this higher level of coverage, but that’s now changed.

Changes in the new law now allow you to keep your current BlueCross plan:

  • If your current BlueCross health plan was in effect on or before Oct. 1, 2013, you can keep that coverage. It will renew in 2014 and you can keep it until your anniversary in 2015.
  • If your current BlueCross health plan became effective on or after Oct. 2, 2013, you can keep that coverage now, but you will need to switch to a new plan on your anniversary in 2014.

Whenever you switch to a new plan, we’re here to help you find the right coverage that fits your budget.
