You already know it’s important to get your flu shot. But you might not know where to get one or if you’ll have to pay for it. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions our members have about how to get a flu shot:

Where can I get a flu shot?

You have options when it comes to getting your flu shot. You can get one from an in-network pharmacy, walk-in clinic, flu shot event or your primary care provider.

Who should get a flu shot?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends flu shots for all adults and children 6 months and older, except for people allergic to the flu vaccine.

Does my plan cover a flu shot?

Many of our plans offer flu shot benefits for you and others covered on your plan. To see what’s covered on your plan, log in to BlueAccessSM or give us a call at the number on the back of your Member ID card.

I’ve heard there’s a nasal spray flu vaccine available. Can I get that instead of a flu shot?

For 2016-2017, the CDC only recommends injectable flu shots.

I want to get a flu shot. How can I find a pharmacist in my network if I don’t have one?

The best way to find a doctor in your network is to use our Find a Doctor tool. You can use it to locate doctors, hospitals, pharmacies and other providers near you. You can also use this tool to find pharmacies offering flu shots. Just search for “Immunizing Pharmacist.”
