New Prescription Partnership for 2013!
Beginning Jan. 1, 2013, you and your employees' prescription drug benefits will be managed for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee by Express Scripts®. Together we'll be able to provide greater savings, care and convenience.
We have taken many steps to make this a smooth transition. Here are the key points you and your employees need to know. Keep this information handy for future reference:
Quick Tips to Prevent the Spread of the Flu!
The flu is a contagious illness caused by influenza (flu) viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness and even death. Some people are at higher risk for serious flu complications. The best way to prevent getting the flu is to get a flu shot every year.
Are you and your employees doing everything you can to screen for breast cancer?
Regular mammograms are still the best tests to find breast cancer early. Mammograms are X-rays of the breast. Mammograms won't find every cancer. But they sometimes find lumps or tumors years before they can be felt.
Everyone is different. You and your employees should ask your health care providers when to schedule a mammogram.
Does Your Enrolled Employee Need Maternity Coverage?
Maternity benefits are not included as a benefit under CoverTN. Members who become pregnant should take the following steps:
- Contact CoverKids as soon as she knows she is pregnant. CoverKids will determine if she is eligible for TennCare OR HealthyTNBabies during the pregnancy. The CoverKids Customer Service toll-free number is 1-866-620-8864.
Reminder: Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) Notices
As a participating CoverTN employer, you are required to fund both your third and your employee's third of the required premium through the bank draft process. The State pays the final third. You must withhold your employee's third through payroll deduction.
- If CoverTN receives a notice of NSF from your financial institution for a premium payment, we will contact you, the participating employer by phone.
