BlueCross Small Groups Have Option for Early Renewal
As your groups develop business strategies for 2014, one of their foremost concerns is the requirement for their employees’ health care coverage to meet the specifications of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and what it will mean for their company. Some BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BlueCross) small groups (less than 51 subscribers) with renewal dates scheduled for early 2014, have asked us to renew their plans later in 2013, so they have additional time to prepare for the health care reform changes.
To help our groups and your clients, we have a Small Group Transition-Early Renewal Process. Group administrators can fill out a simple form requesting that we renew their coverage according to our early renewal schedule, which is based on the company’s current renewal period. For example, companies scheduled to renew their coverage in January 2014 can opt for renewal in September 2013.
