Temporary ID Card Program Available for New Members

Members do not have to wait until their identification cards arrive in the mail to use the benefits of their BlueCross plan. Thanks to readily available temporary ID cards, BlueCross members can get their health insurance information as soon as their coverage is active, giving them access to BlueCross’ extensive network of medical providers and services immediately.

You have the ability to print temporary member ID cards for your groups through the “Print Temporary ID Cards” link on BCBST.com. Remember: temporary ID cards are only available for BlueCross members with medical coverage.

To print temporary ID cards, you will need the following information:

  • Benefit effective date
  • Group ID/group number
  • Subscriber ID

The cards can be printed on a standard piece of paper and trimmed down to fit conveniently in a member’s wallet – just like the permanent BlueCross member ID cards.
