IN OUR COMMUNITIES

Being here matters

Tennessee is our home, and we believe in being here and doing good for our neighbors.

Here's how we do it.

BLUECROSS HEALTHY PLACES

Bringing our communities together

The BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation is building BlueCross Healthy Places to provide our neighbors with opportunities for healthy activity and to help strengthen the bonds of our communities. All spaces are free and open to the public.

BLUECROSS COMMUNITY TRUST

Supporting local organizations and civic groups

The BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Community Trust provides around $500,000 per year in support for select organizations across the state. And our commitment to Tennessee goes beyond grant funding to support that’s personal and hands-on. We encourage community partners to reach out about volunteer partnership opportunities.

TEAMBLUE VOLUNTEERS

Volunteering our time and talents

From packing and delivering meals to mentoring young people, our employees are committed to the causes that matter to them. In 2024, they gave 14,000 volunteer hours across Tennessee and beyond. And our Community Relations team works to pair our people with meaningful ways of giving back.

OUR CULTURE AND VALUES

Creating opportunities for all

At BlueCross, we're focused on improving access to care for everyone. And we're taking steps to improve health for all our members – and for all Tennesseans. That includes making sure each of our employees feels valued and respected. It also extends to our volunteer work, our grantmaking, and our efforts to understand how our members’ needs can affect their health outcomes.

STEWARDSHIP

Using natural resources wisely

Building healthier communities includes being careful with how we use natural resources. You’ll see our commitment throughout our facilities – from smart water recycling to solar arrays on the roof of our parking garage. These examples of good stewardship also help us reduce operating costs to save money for our members.
