Affordability is our business
For more than 80 years, BlueCross has served as a trusted partner in our communities. Affordability remains the primary driver for every decision we make as health care costs continue to rise. In 2025, we used 89 cents from every premium dollar collected to pay for the care our members need. And as a not-for-profit health insurer, we invest in what benefits those members.
Here are some of the numbers that define our year in service:
- $22.2 billion in claims payments
- $604 million paid in taxes
- 71 million claims processed
- 957k visits at BlueCross Healthy Places
- 133k virtual care visits by our members
Power of We Scholarship
Funded by our foundation, the Power of We Scholarship helps improve health for people of all backgrounds across Tennessee. Since 2013, the program has helped more than 40 promising students continue their studies in healthcare-related fields.
