Can I create an online account?
If you can legally make health care decisions for another member, you can be given PR permissions so you can manage their plan. But you need to use your own account, not the member's account. You shouldn't create online accounts in the name of the member. You must have your own unique account with your own username and password. If you are already a member with an account, you can request PR permissions to access another member's health information here.
I am not a BlueCross member myself, but I am the PR of a member. Can I apply to be their PR online?
If you're a PR but not a member, you'll still be able to create an online account so you can manage your represented member's health plan online. We'll need some documents from you to make sure that you're the member's PR. After we've verified your PR status, you'll receive an e-mail inviting you to register for an online account. If the member you represent has more than one plan, you can connect those plans to your username by clicking Connect a Plan on the Personal Representative Access page under Sharing & Permissions in your online account.
I am a member with my own BlueCross health plan, but I also represent another member on a different plan from my own. Will I be able to access all this data in one place online?
As a PR, you'll be able to manage both the members that you represent and your own personal health plans online under a single username. This means that you'll be able to log in to your online member account or mobile app and access all the data you're allowed to see.
What if I need to get full access to a teenager that I represent?
If you are a PR of a teenage member between the ages of 13 and 17 and you want to get full access to the teenager's health information online, the teenage member will need to grant you that access.
