SMS Texting Terms and Conditions

Opt-in

By opting to receive SMS text messages (from phone numbers 69246 or 40000), you are opting into BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee’s marketing list, which may include outreach regarding your existing relationship with BlueCross and new products and services that might be useful to you. By opting in, you acknowledge that you are a member 18 years or older, or you are the legal guardian or personal representative of a member. Further, you accept the security risks associated with text messages described below.

Opt-out

You can text STOP to 69246 or STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, or CANCEL to 40000 at any time to stop receiving text messages from BlueCross. Per federal regulations, BlueCross has up to 10 days to process your opt-out request. By opting to receive text messages from BlueCross, you consent that following a request to unsubscribe, you may receive one final message from BlueCross to confirm you have been inactivated in our system. Following the confirmation message, no additional text messages will be sent unless you reactivate your subscription.

Fee

BlueCross does not have a separate charge for this service; however, message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. Please contact your mobile carrier for specific information regarding your cell phone plan and text message charges.

Security

BlueCross is committed to building user trust and confidence by promoting and complying with the use of business practices that help protect the privacy of our customers and their data. Be aware that communications via text message may not be secure and there is a possibility that information included in text messages can be intercepted and read by other parties besides the person to whom it is addressed.

General Terms

BlueCross reserves the right to terminate this SMS service, in whole or in part, at any time without notice. The information in any message may be subject to certain time lags and/or delays. If you have any questions or need help, text HELP to 69246 or 40000 or call 1-800-565-9140.

Compatible carriers include: AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Nextel, Boost, Alltel, U.S. Cellular.
